Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures.  Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances.

Dental implants are artificial roots (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by a dentist. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and will enhance or restore a patient’s smile!

Dental implants are strong and durable and should last many years. Just like natural teeth, implants require good homecare and regular dental checkups.

Dental Implants Can

  • Replace one or more missing teeth (without negatively affecting adjacent teeth the way a bridge does)

  • Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting and wearing down

  • Restore a patient’s confident smile.

  • Restore chewing, speech, and more healthy diet

  • Restore or enhance facial tissues

  • Support a bridge or denture, making it more secure and comfortable

What does getting dental implants involve?

One of the many options we provide our patients is "Teeth in a day" with Nobel Biocare implants. However, most people do not need a full arch of dental implants, therefore single implants is our most common procedure.

A 3-D mini CAT scan is performed in our office and the area is assessed to see if an implant placement will be feasible. Our office provides this service for free! We always give our patients a written estimate with no pressure :)  We believe in the value we offer.

The patient is offered the option of nitrous oxide as an anti-anxiety agent, oral sedation, or IV sedation (we are credentialed by the State of California) to keep you comfortable. On the day of the surgery, the level of sedation is achieved and the area is also numbed with local anesthetic. The implant is surgically placed and allowed to integrate for about 4-6 months. A temporary tooth can be provided during the wait for the final restoration.

When it comes time for the final impression, we have a state-of-the-art scanner (PrimeScan) that helps this to be a truly easy process.

With your new, beautiful smile, we have an excellent re-care program to keep your implants and restoration healthy. For your part, good oral hygiene and eating habits, alongside regular dental visits, will prolong the life of your new implant(s).
